About

Business, social enterprises and academia are the activities I focus on. Wherever there’s an opportunity to add value to people’s lives, I’ll get involved. My guiding principle is to be the “New Rich” described by Tim Feriss – free to travel anywhere, working measured by results not time, and passion for continuous learning.

My academic work focusses on Economic Geography, in particular the water market in the Murray Darling Basin of Australia. However as a pure scientist, I mostly use idle curiosity when searching for research topics.

I am completing my Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at Sydney University, researching the socio-economic effects of water markets in the Murray Darling Basin of Australia. My research often involves data “mashups”… linking different socio-economic data sets to reveal new insights and emergent behaviour. This involves map-making, data visualisation, web design and plenty of data detective work.

After taking a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Physics from the University of Sydney, I earned a Master of Science in Water Science, Policy and Management at Oxford University where my research focussed on Virtual Water and Food Security in Syria and Sudan.
